Tamy and TTYY have decided to form a joint working group which assists Tamy, TTYY and
other project partners in planning their development cooperation project.
At the moment, we are planning a sanitation project in cooperation with the Global Dry Toilet
Association of Finland. We are now seeking professionals from many fields in order to offer
participation opportunities for as many students as possible. During the planning stage, the
fields that are especially important include financial administration, construction engineering,
gender studies, public health, environmental politics and environmental technology. Of
course, we also want to involve students who are interested in matters related to
development cooperation or who have experience in communication.
Whether you are a wizard in Excel, an engineer in the making or a world-embracing hippie,
you can join us and work on this influential and exciting project that brings together students
from all around Tampere while helping the most underprivileged people.
Tamy’s development cooperation activities began already in 1988, and the year 2018 will
start with the planning of a new development cooperation project. At the moment, the
deadline for the planning will be the application period for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’
project support in May 2018. We have involved project partners from Tampere in the new
project as the Ministry favours joint projects when allocating their development cooperation
funds. Local higher education institutes are among our project partners, and they aim to offer
the students a possibility to complete studies in the form of management or practical training.
If successful, the project plan will be externally funded, which means that the Student
Union’s funds would not be used. Students may volunteer to give financial support to the
project if they wish to do so.
Send your motivation letter by 21 January 2018 to firstname.lastname@example.org. The working
group’s members will be selected based on their motivation and prior experience as well as
the distribution of degree programmes. The orientation meeting will be held on 30 January
2018 during the student unions’ Association Start event. For additional information, contact
the Specialist in International Affairs: email@example.com .
