Equal opportunities perspective penetrates all aspects of Tamy’s activities and stands. Tamy influences matters related to e.g. gender equality, accessibility and equal treatment of everyone in general. Tamy also arranges equality themed trainings for the association actives operating within the Student Union.
The Student Union has representatives in the University’s equal opportunities working group. In addition, Tamy’s legendary Women Culture Days have been arranged for over thirty years. Equal opportunity matters are also discussed in the Committee for Social Welfare Affairs. Tamy includes the equal opportunities viewpoint in the advocacy work with their cooperation partners.
If you have any questions related to equality or equal opportunities at the University and the Student Union, you can contact the equal opportunities organizer of Tamy’s Executive Board or the Specialist in Social Welfare Affairs.
You can also familiarize yourself with Tamy’s Equality Plan, where you can find the objectives for equal opportunity promotion within Tamy and the associations, and among students. Attached to the plan are some checklists to help in planning events and communication and detailed policies about accessibility.
If you have questions or requests regarding exam or lecture arrangements or other special arrangements in your studies, please contact the liaison person at the University.
Tamy’s service office is in Yliopistonkatu 60 A, 2nd floor (on the opposite side of the street from the main campus). You can get to Tamy’s office by using the elevator in the courtyard. If you have any questions about the accessibility of the activities of the Student Union, or if you want to share your experiences or give feedback, Tamy’s Specialist in Social Welfare Affairs is always happy to hear what you have to say.
Tamy has an email list for disabled students (email@example.com) where you can discuss the challenges of the disabled students’ everyday life (see subscription instructions). The email list operates mainly in Finnish.
