The Pori Unit of the University of Tampere is a teaching and research institute that belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences. In Pori, you can study Social Work and Sociology or do a Master’s Programme in Organizing Human Services. Despite their geographical location, the students of the Pori unit belong to Tamy just as much as the students in Tampere. In fact, Tamy does its best to guarantee that the students in the branch unit are offered various useful services and benefits and that supervision of interests functions there as well.
Tamy’s Specialist in Communication and Organizational Affairs and the Executive Board’s organizational affairs organizer act as the branch unit’s contact persons.
In autumn 2010, project secretary Jussi Telaranta produced a report for Tamy. The report investigated the supervision of interests and services offered to the students in Pori, as well as communication’s current situation and development options. The project was done in cooperation with the subject association Utopia and Pointer ry, which operates in the University Consortium of Pori.
