BRIEFLY ABOUT THE ELECTIONS
The voting is done electronically using basic user accounts. All members of the Student Union who have enrolled as present at the University of Tampere no later than 21 days before the elections are eligible to vote.
The Council consists of 40 representatives who make decisions concerning e.g. the budget and the plan of action of the Student Union. Every year, the Council of Representatives appoints the Executive Board of the Student Union. The Council is the one to decide how the Student Union membership fees are used.
The term of office of the Council elected in 2017 will only be one year. The Council’s term of office starts from the beginning of 2018. This year’s elections will be the last for the Council in its current form, since the higher education merger will have an effect on the structure of the student unions as well. You can find more information on the Council of Representatives here.
